Airbnb Marriage Proposal
I really get to photograph so many of the sweetest moments out there as a wedding and engagement photographer. Still, one of my favorite moments that I have the pleasure of getting to photograph is proposals. This proposal in Hagarville, Arkansas, at a little Airbnb not far off highway 123, was no different!
It was beautiful overlooking the little hills and fields in a little-known place in Arkansas. And she said yes, but I'm getting ahead of myself!
Kyle and I emailed back and forth for a few weeks, and he had a vision and had it all planned out in his head, and it was an honor to help him make it come true. Since they were both from Texas, I helped him order and pick up the roses from a little flower shop in Clarksville, Arkansas, called The Bloom Box (you can see them here at their website https://www.clarksvillearflorist.com/ ). I went and picked them up the Friday evening before the Saturday afternoon proposal took them home. I depetaled them right before I left for the cabin so they could be spread outside by the fireplace, where he planned to propose.
The driveway to the cabin was straight uphill, and by the time I had walked it, after leaving my car at the bottom to go undetected, I was quite warm even though it was a pretty cold February day. I snuck around the back of the Airbnb, spread out the rose petals, and then hid behind a tree to photograph as he led her out the door of the cabin.
She later said that one of the most surprising things to her besides the proposal itself was the fact that I popped out from behind a tree to start photographing. Haha, I felt like a paparazzi as I came out of my hiding place to capture their perfect moment.
Being trusted to participate in such special events in my clients' lives is why I wouldn't trade my job for anything!
