Kurstein and Michael

One-lane Bridge Engagement Session

Kurstein and Michael's engagement session was an absolute blast! They chose the charming Fort Douglas with its old one-lane bridge as the backdrop. Sadly, the bridge is rumored to be slated for demolition, making this session even more special as it captured a piece of history that may soon be gone.

The location also offered a breathtaking view of Big Piney Creek, which provided a stunning reflection in the water on that beautiful, sunny day with fluffy clouds dotting the sky. Despite a few interruptions from passersby crossing over the bridge, including some of Kursten's students that she teaches, we managed to find our spots on the narrow bridge and continued the photo shoot without a hitch.

The natural lighting was simply perfect, with the sun shining through the bridge, creating a magical ambiance for the pictures. And let's not forget Kurstein and Michael's perfect choice of outfits that complemented each other wonderfully, perfectly suited for a delightful late springtime engagement session.

The creek at Fort Douglas was an ideal spot to capture more intimate shots with the water as a picturesque background. As we clicked away, we also took the opportunity to discuss their wedding plans, going over the right order of events and whether they should opt for a first look. I must admit, I'm a bit of a wedding planning enthusiast, and our conversation was an enjoyable highlight of the evening.

Looking back, I can't help but appreciate how this engagement session embraced both history and nature, creating timeless memories for Kursten and Michael. It's a reminder of how unique and meaningful each couple's love story can be, weaving together the past and present, and setting the stage for a beautiful future together.

As the sun began to set on that lovely day, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey. Maybe later in my life, I'll explore wedding planning as a profession, but for now, I'm privileged to capture these special moments as a photographer.

In conclusion, Kurstein and Michael's engagement session was filled with joy, smiles, and love. It celebrated the significance of a historical location and the beauty of nature, all while capturing the sweetness of their unique bond. It's moments like these that make me appreciate the beauty of love and the art of photography even more. Here's to Kurstein and Michael's bright future together, and to cherishing the memories we created on that wonderful day in Fort Douglas.
