Whitney + Daniel, the perfect Petit Jean State Park Arkansas Engagement...
Talk about a fun and photogenic couple! This Texas couple is opting for the greenness and scenic views of Arkansas for both their wedding and of course engagement!
It was so awesome to finally meet Whitney and Daniel and get to hang out with them, visit about life and wedding plans, and get some cute pictures in before their wedding coming up in the first part of June.
Springtime in Arkansas is my favorite time of year. It makes my heart happy to see all the green popping out, the streams and creeks running because of all the rain, and to enjoy all the colors of the wildflowers. Petit Jean is so beautiful this time of year (well any time of year really) and I'm so glad we decided on doing engagement photos here.
When most people think about Petit Jean they think of the amazing overlooks and cool hiking trails, but what they may not think of is the neat old Cedar Creek Bridge. The bridge was built in 1934 by a crew of the Civilian Conservation Corps that was developing the park's facilities. It is a single-span closed-spandrel masonry arch structure, with an arch 20 feet long and 10 feet high, and was built out of mortared ashlar fieldstone laid in courses, with some stones left rusticated and protruding from the sides! In 1990 this bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Pretty cool!! A must-see the next time you are at the park and a top choice when wanting some awesome-looking photos.
We did end our session at Petit Jean Overlook and Gravesite or also known as Scouts Point. All of the rain that we have had has washed all the pollen out of the air and so the view was crystal clear and not hazy at all. Could not have asked for a better day!
It was so hard to just pick a few to share from this session because all the photos were just so good! Can't wait to be able to photograph them again at their wedding at An Enchanting Evening, a venue close to Little Rock Arkansas.
